This really is couples last chance to visit the venues in 2016 for weekend viewings. As we all know, many couples get engaged over the Christmas and New Year period and so this is a great opportunity to ‘beat the rush’ and snap up some great wedding dates while the availability is still there!

Wasing Park Prime Winter Weddings
I’m dreaming of a … Winter Wedding at Wasing Park
Many brides who may have wanted to tie the knot at Wasing Park in 2016 thought they were out of luck, that was until a prime date recently became available. Dreams really can come true and a winter wedding at the beautiful Berkshire estate could be yours on Friday 2nd December.
A winter wedding at Wasing Park can be just as spectacular as a summer wedding! It allows couples to incorporate the joyful Christmas spirit into the various wedding activities and decorations.
Wasing Park has been and continues to be used as an ideal location for, not only summer weddings but, winter wonderland weddings. The very ‘English’ setting lends itself perfectly to a winter wedding as it is charmingly rustic around the edges. The countryside surroundings, focusing on forest greens, go hand-in-hand with a wedding with the desired ‘wintery edge’.
As well as the prime date of Friday 2nd December, Wasing Park also has a handful of other dates available throughout Autumn and Winter 2016 and is offering the following special discounts:
£1000 off the venue fee on all remaining Thursday – Sunday dates in 2016*
£300 off the venue fee on all remaining Monday – Wednesday dates in 2016*
Couples wishing to book their wedding on Friday 2nd December can check in from 5pm the day before. On that evening Wasing Park would be delighted to offer a complimentary supper** for all guests sharing a room on the bedroom bed and breakfast price.
For further information on dates and these special offers telephone 0118 971 3634 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. For further details of the venue visit the website at www.wasingpark.co.uk
*Offer not available to previously confirmed bookings
** Supper of lasagne, salad and garlic bread (beef and vegetarian) OR Thai Green Curry and Rice (chicken or vegetarian)
A magical tour of Wasing Park
From the moment of arrival and the long drive to the venue, one knew straight away what a magical place Wasing would be.
Although a rather rainy, dull day it was evident from those first moments just why so many couples decide to tie the knot here.
Upon arrival we were whisked to see every part of this truly wonderful venue. First stop the honeymoon suite….and what a wow factor it has!
The room was epic in every way. From the glamorous bathroom to the giant over-sized bed, the huge room proportions not compromised and oozing character. A perfect place to spend a first night of marriage.
Next on our list was the Castle Barn. An airy converted barn, again full of original character and charm. Set up as it would be for a wedding reception for approximately 100 guests, the space felt warm and inviting with a neutral colour scheme, ensuring it suites the taste of every couple.
The barn then opens out onto a lovely open space. A patio area, complete with fire pit, precedes an opened lawned area. Perfect for guests spilling out on summers evenings. At the foot of the lawn our next stop; The Victorian Summerhouse.
Again a lovely room. Perfect for smaller ceremonies and with the ability to open the huge folding doors that border it, which would give the outside-in feel to a balmy summer occasion.
Next on our tour were visits to other areas of the estate. Firstly, the magical woodland area.
Set in acres of managed woodland and surrounded by some of the many lakes of the estate, the area offers couples the chance of an eco-friendlier style wedding. Complete with a huge Argentinean spit roast, a stage and a pergola bar, the woodland venue has all facilities to cater for the outdoor wedding only dreams are made of.
The Secret Walled Garden was our next destination; a far more traditional venue with all of the magic that was fast becoming the norm at Wasing.
Although winter when we visited, it wasn’t difficult to visualise how spectacular this would be. Licensed for civil ceremonies and with a no corkage fee policy, this is certainly a venue for those on a leaner budget but without compromising on all of the magic that Wasing offers.
The finale to our visit comprised a wonderful meal. Canapés which included crayfish caught on the estate, were followed by fresh John Dorey fillets. Main course comprised of venison two-ways, again from the estate. A light lemon dessert to finish rounded of a great showcase and a fabulous visit.
Our conclusion was that Wasing has to be seen and must be considered for anybody wishing to get married in a wonderful location and amazing facilities.
St Audries Park have just announced an open day on Sunday 20th September 2015 from Midday until 4pm. No appointment necessary! The venue has very limited availability for a Wedding now in 2015 and 2016 so couples are invited to come and snap up their dream venue on their preferred date while they still can!

New rooms designate Wasing as one of the most exciting wedding venues in the UK
Wasing Park, Britain's best-loved wedding venue unveils three enchanting 18th century wedding suites, this week.
The beautifully-appointed Old Estate Rooms have been sensitively restored as part of a £3 million restoration project of the venue near Aldermaston, in Berkshire.
The three distinct and very individual Grade II listed buildings include The Dovecote – a circular suite featuring the original brick floor and wooden ladder used for cleaning out the nests; The Smithy with its striking old forge fireplace, wooden beams, window sills and contemporary seven foot bed; and The Granary where wooden steps lead up to a fairy tale suite which sits proudly on its mushroom staddle stones and features a king size bed with a free standing copper bath on the first floor.
“These quirky and enchanting dwellings give an elegant take on the romantic farmyard tryst. The Dovecote is possibly the most incredible of the three. The serene inviting space over two floors evokes a small cathedral in the round, with the old pigeon holes lit from within,” says owner of Wasing Park, Joshua Dugdale, who adds: “Just one of these charming bedrooms would be an extraordinary feature but all three make Wasing one of the most exciting venues in the UK today.”
The three new Old Estate Rooms are available to brides alongside the award-winning honeymoon suite, recently named in the top 10 amazing bridal suites from around the world by hitched.co.uk.
The opening of the new rooms marks the end of a huge conservation project undertaken at Wasing since 2008.
Joshua explains the buildings, which had no use and were in need of expensive repairs, are now guaranteed for generations to come: “We are incredibly proud of our achievement of restoring these old redundant buildings. We didn’t simply want to repair the roof, but go further and expand the possibility of what they could become. I have no doubt that these rooms will become known far and wide for their quirkiness and difference and will be a huge asset to Wasing Park.”
Wasing Park is the ultimate venue for an exclusive use wedding with an unmatched choice of where to tie the knot. A civil ceremony in the Garden Room or outdoors in the glorious Victorian Summerhouse; you can even say ‘I do’ at The Folly followed by a celebration in the estate’s ancient woodland or Secret Walled Garden. The parish Church of St Nicholas is also on the estate.
Whether it is the romantic barn of your dreams, a beautiful garden setting, or a magical woodland backdrop you are looking for, Wasing has it all.

Elegant country house wedding venue, Micklefield Hall, to host innovative interactive open day
Idyllic Hertfordshire countryside wedding venue, Micklefield Hall, is to host a unique and imaginative interactive open day on Saturday, 19th April 2014 from 11am – 4pm.
The open day aims to demonstrate the potential of this grand, quintessentially English venue to prospective brides and grooms with the brand new addition of a romantic new 16th century barn conversion, which opens for weddings very soon. Set in 350 acres of rolling, green countryside among beautifully kept gardens, the barn conversion adds to the existing splendour of this irresistibly beautiful venue.
The event will allow couples to meet the venue’s owners, Jamie and Anna Rankin and will showcase every aspect of the venue, from a sneak peek to the almost-completed new barn to a realistic sampling of all the offerings from Micklefield Hall’s preferred suppliers. The venue’s summer marquee will be styled as if for a wedding, allowing couples to really imagine what their spring or summer wedding might look like.
This unique event is also designed to showcase the best of Micklefield Hall’s exclusive list of trusted preferred suppliers and how they work within the existing beauty of the grounds. Rather than couples meeting suppliers at stalls and collecting fliers, all of the talent will be presented in a realistic way, as it would be at an actual Micklefield Hall wedding. With live entertainment on offer, bridal make-up masterclasses and mini makeovers, the latest bridal and groomswear fashion and accessories on display, tours of Micklefield Hall every 30 minutes, free floristry advice, mouth-watering catering, cake tasting and a dedicated consultation area to discuss your Micklefield Hall wedding, nothing needs to be left to the imagination.
Anna Rankin says: “This is not your typical event with suppliers handing out leaflets. All of our handpicked preferred suppliers are creating wonderful displays to inspire brides and grooms and demonstrate the different options in a fun and interactive way. We are planning a truly enjoyable and memorable day out and cannot wait to welcome couples to our beautiful grounds and to give them a realistic idea of just how incredible their wedding day can be.”
Couples and their families can apply for tickets by emailing email@example.com and will then receive their e-invite to this exclusive and exciting day out.
For more information about this event, please contact Micklefield Hall on

Great British Weddings
Great British Weddings was launched in June 2008. The main goal of the site is to become the UK's premier Wedding Planning Online Directory. There are many Wedding Planning websites on the internet but our research showed us that couples wanted a quality website, that was easy to use and would help them plan their weddings easily, quickly and without the stress of trawling through long listings of service providers in their area. With our voting system the vast majority of those quality companies featured on Great British Weddings have been nominated by those who have used these services
With Great British Weddings you can search by County, By Word, and by Service required or a mixture of all three. You can collate your potential Wedding suppliers within our quite unique My Favourites
section you can create your own virtual contact list of providers you intend to contact. You can also compare pricing and services offered. Simply search for the suppliers you wish to contact and they will be retained on this page for you to come back to when you are ready.
Going forward we intend to bring online even more useful features to aid the Bride & Groom to be so they can make exactly the right choices for their special day.
We welcome all feedback about The Great British weddings website both good and bad as we believe from criticism comes excellence!
